The task
Badger currently lacks any integrity verification for SSTable files (`.sst`). Silent data corruption — such as bit flips, partial writes, or disk errors — can go completely undetected. Issue #671 appeared to be caused by data corruption that was silently consumed by Badger, leading to incorrect or unexpected behavior.
