Currently, the `$` function only accepts template literals directly. Configuration is applied globally via `$.verbose`, `$.shell`, etc., or per-call via chained methods like `.nothrow()` and `.quiet()`. This makes it awkward to create pre-configured instances of `$` for reuse.
