**Observed symptom** When a CXF client proxy, created through `JAXRSClientFactory`, attempts to connect to an HTTPS endpoint that requires mutual TLS, the handshake fails with `javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException` because the client has no keystore configured to present its certificate.
