The task

When a SOCKS5 proxy is configured through system environment variables (e.g. `ALL_PROXY=socks5://...` or `HTTPS_PROXY=socks5://...`), the update checker and downloader fail. Users see “Server disconnected” errors in the console and cannot fetch release metadata or perform updates.
