Currently, the Send API endpoint (`/api/v1/send`) uses the same authentication as the Web UI and other API endpoints. This forces users who want to use flexible authentication for sending emails (e.g., no auth, or permissive credentials) to also expose the Web UI with the same loose authentication settings.
