Description

The task

The project currently relies on raw subprocess calls to execute git commands (clone, fetch, checkout, etc.). This approach is error-prone, difficult to test, and leads to inconsistent error handling. The goal is to migrate all git operations to the GitPython library, which provides a safer, programmatic interface.
