On JDK 9+ (e.g., JDK 17), attaching the JaCoCo agent inadvertently opens the `java.base` module – notably the `java.lang` package – to the unnamed module of the application class loader. This grants reflective access that should remain denied by the module system, making runtime encapsulation checks unreliable.
