Internationalized Domain Names (IDN) allow domain names to contain non-ASCII characters like ñ, ü, 中文, etc. Since the DNS system only supports ASCII characters, these special characters must be encoded using a system called Punycode. The `xn--` prefix indicates that a domain name is Punycode-encoded.
