The task

SQLite has historically had limited support for the `ALTER TABLE` command. Prior to SQLite version 3.35.0 (released 2021-03-12), SQLite did **not** support `ALTER TABLE DROP COLUMN` syntax. The traditional workaround involves recreating the table without the unwanted column.
